BASIC FUNCTIONS:
- To provide quality Nursing Care and transportation to those requiring the services of the company.
To perform as a trained and caring professional representing the company.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
- Field Nursing Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITY:
- The Registered Nurse is directly responsible for their programs Charge Nurse and Field Nursing Supervisor.
- The primary functional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Read and understand the company’s Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Reporting on time and in uniform for their assigned shift in good mental and physical health.
- Maintain appropriate certifications (MA and/or RI) in order to function as a Registered Nurse legally.
- Ensure that the assigned vehicle is stocked, serviced, and cleaned as per policy and procedure manual.
- Assure all biomedical equipment is checked, operated and maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s standards.
- Perform, with a good attitude, all job tasks assigned by the Field Nursing Supervisor or other managerial personnel.
- Maintain the nursing office you are assigned to.
- Greet all inspection personnel both within the company and State or local officials professionally, courteously and with enthusiasm.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- The Duties of the Staff Registered Nurse include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- Upon starting your shift, update yourself with the current patient census and receive your day’s duties from the Physician, Charge Nurse, or Field Nursing Supervisor on duty.
- Manage all patients in accordance with nursing standards of care and within your scope of practice.
- Complete the appropriate documentation on all visits in a legible manner and to the standard expected within the company.
- Carry out all assignments in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure that the vehicle is appropriately stocked, cleaned (vehicle trash emptied, vehicle refueled, etc.) at completion of shift.
- While on duty, have on your personal all appropriate RN certifications and driver’s license.
- Operate the company vehicle in a safe and reasonable manner in accordance with the laws of Due Regard.
- Conduct oneself so as to never endanger a patient or the credibility of the company.
- Service as a “Team Member” and as such adopt a “whatever it takes to get the job done” attitude.
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:
- The Measurement of performance will include:
- The ability exhibited to ensure quality care to your patients.
- The timeliness of the completion of all tasks assigned to them.
- The ability to perform as an RN and team member in a cooperative fashion with their co-workers and management.
- The willingness to help other coworkers and the program succeed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- The requirements to maintain employment will include:
- Ability to read, understand and communicate in English.
- Ability to lift and carry 125 pounds.
- Maintain an active Driver’s License.
- Maintain all appropriate and mandated credentials as defined by the department of health and the programs in which you are working.
- Maintain appropriate State(s) licensure/certification.
